  • Brachers again proves itself a leading law firm with 25 of its practice areas and 25 lawyers receiving rankings from two of the world’s most prominent legal directories.

Chambers and Partners and the Legal 500 are the most comprehensive guides to the best law firms and lawyers in the UK and across the globe. This year the firm again saw five practice areas ranked in the highest tier possible; Family and Matrimonial, Debt Recovery, Clinical Negligence (Defendant), Commercial Property, and Health.

In the Chambers and Partners directory, Brachers’ Head of Corporate and Commercial, James Bullock, again received a tier 1 ranking with Matthew Simmonds, Mark Leeson, Sarah Gaines and Allis Beasley all moving up a tier.

The Legal 500 directory saw the Corporate and Commercial, and Education teams both moving up a place to be ranked 2. The Banking and Finance, and Charities teams, which are both new to the rankings received a 3, bringing the total number of ranked practice areas to 19, up two from last year.

Of our 25 ranked Partners, Sarah Gaines, Scott Alexander, Graham Wallis, Allis Beasley and John Sheath all maintained their title of ‘leading lawyers’, Partner Alexandra Gordon maintained her title as a ‘next generation lawyer’, and Harriet Humphrey was named a ‘rising star’.

The rankings from Chambers and Partners and Legal 500 consider the calibre of work undertaken as well as feedback from clients and other professionals. The firm received high praise this year, with the teams being described as offering a ‘dedicated, professional and personalised service’, and being ‘approachable with excellent knowledge’. The directories stated that ‘clients are treated equally and sympathetically’, and Brachers Head of Commercial Property, Sarah Gaines, was described as an ‘exceptional combination of professionalism and pragmatism with an ability to think outside the box and to deliver solutions to complex issues’.

Joanna Worby, Managing Partner, said: “We are delighted that an increasing amount of our lawyers and practice areas have again been recognised for their expertise by these respected authorities. Brachers commitment to delivering the highest quality of service and care to our clients is paramount, and this is exemplified by recognition from bodies such as Chambers and Partners, and Legal 500.”
