Sophie Spellman

Profile:

Sophie is an Associate in our Commercial Property team.

She qualified as a solicitor in 2015, at a Kent-based law firm, specialising in residential and commercial property matters. After four years, she joined a well-known regional firm to focus her specialism on commercial property, working in their asset management team. Sophie also spent some time working for a national law firm before subsequently, joining the Commercial Property team at Brachers in September 2022.

Sophie specialises in:

• Commercial freehold and leasehold sales and purchases including transactions subject to occupational tenants and leasebacks
• Acting for retail, commercial and charity banks in relation to high-value secured lending transactions
• Exclusivity Agreements
• Acting for charities and managing their property assets
• Acting on behalf of both landlords and tenants in leases of various types of premises, including industrial units, quaysides, GP Surgeries, retail units and office space
• Sales and purchases of property to pension funds and acting for pension trustees
• Licences in relation to leases, such as licences to alter or assign
• Primary Care work, in particular leases for GPs
• Corporate Support
• Property portfolio management

She was named as a ‘Recommended Lawyer’ in the Legal 500 2025 directory.
